C. William Clapperton, C.H.E. , General Manager of Durham Region Non-Profit Housing Corporation, is pleased to announce the appointment of Janis Waithe Huberty to the position of Manager, Tenant Services effective April 23, 2007.
Ms. Huberty brings 30 years of experience in housing to her new role. A long-time employee with Durham Non-Profit, both as Community Relations Worker and Property Manager, Janis’ involvement with the housing sector has also been with the former Metro Toronto Housing Authority and with Heritage Community Housing Corporation in Whitby.
Ms. Huberty has a BA in Economics from the University of Toronto.

Dr. Albert Rose Bursary Program
The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing has again announced the Dr. Albert Rose Bursary Program. Bursaries are available to rent-geared-to-income (RGI) tenants graduating from high school in 2006 or mature students who intend to enrol in a full-time post-secondary education program (1st or 2nd year). Each of these bursaries will be in the amount of up to $3,000 payable in two instalments of up to $1,500. Awards also continue to be available to RGI tenants planning to enrol in short-term academic, trade, or skills-based training. Each of these awards will be up to $1,000, also payable in instalments.
