The Waiting List
After your application is received, and you meet all of the
above eligibility requirements, you will be placed on the waiting
lists of the building locations you have selected. You may remove
or add new building locations at any time by contacting our office.
The waiting list operates on a first come first served basis,
however special priority placement is given to victims of abuse
(who meet special eligibility requirements).
Generally speaking, the waiting period for RGI assisted housing
is 5 to 7 years. Actual waiting time depends on many different
factors such as the number of people on the waiting list for
the location, the number of people moving out of the location,
and the bedroom size of the unit your household requires.
The best way to minimize the waiting period is to select as
many building locations as possible.
