Finance and Administration - Payment Methods

Rent is due in full on the first day of the month. Rent payments must be made at Durham Region Non-Profit Housing Corporation's (DRNPHC) Head Office located at 28A Albert Street. Rent payments cannot be accepted by Superintendents or Property Managers.

In addition to payment by cash, money order, or personal cheque*, Durham Region Non-Profit Housing offers many alternative payment methods that are reliable, secure and convenient.

* Personal cheques are not accepted after the 5 th day of the month.

Pre-Authorized Payment

By completing a short information form and providing a voided cheque, DRNPHC can arrange for your rent to be paid automatically from your bank account. Pre-authorized payments are processed on the first business day of the month rent is due.

Benefits:

  • Safe and Secure: no more handling of large sums of cash
  • Convenient: no more trips to our office
  • Reliable: never miss a rent payment (as long as required funds exist)
  • Post Dated Cheques

Post Dated Cheques

You may provide DRNPHC with a series of post dated cheques for your rent amount up to one year in advance. Cheques are cashed on the first business day of the month they are due. back to top

Telephone and Internet Payments

DRNPHC tenants also have the option to pay their rent by telephone or on-line banking through services offered by their bank. Online banking requires a computer with internet access. Payments made by the telephone or in-line method may take up to two to four business days to process by your bank, so please ensure DRNPHC will receive your payment by the 1 st of the month.

If you are interested in setting up telephone or internet banking you must set up a payment account as follows:
