DRNPHC is responsible for repairs and maintenance due to age and normal wear and tear. When repairs and/or replacement is required due to neglect, abuse or misuse by a resident or other occupant of a unit or a guest, the responsibility for cost becomes the tenant's. Depending on various factors, such as location, severity, breach of security, etc., a resident may be instructed to arrange repair/replacement themselves. Circumstances may also dictate that the Corporation arrange the repair and charge back any costs incurred to the tenant. The responsibility for damages is outlined in each tenants' lease agreement, as well as in the Tenant Protection Act.
