Finance and Administration - Air Conditioning Fees

In units where utilities for basic services, such as heat and water, are paid for by the Corporation, a fee is charged to the tenant for the use of an air conditioning unit. That means tenants who do not pay for their hydro usage separately are subject to this fee. While this fee does not recover the entire additional cost, it does help defray the cost incurred for the operation of such appliances during the summer months.

The air conditioner fee is charged on a per season basis and is due for all or any part of a season; it is not prorated. (Click here for Schedule of Fees) This fee is subject to change as approved by the Board. This fee applies to each air conditioning unit installed. A notice is distributed each Spring reminding tenants of this fee and the date by which payment must be made.
